This collection is part of a nascent effort to document cultural interactions between the Jewish and Muslim people of North Africa and the Iberian Peninsula. Currently, this collection gathers related resources that already exist in Archnet. We hope to develop these resources further in the near future and welcome your suggestions or contributions.

For purposes of this collection, the Maghreb includes all the contemporary African nations that border the Mediterranean Sea west of Egypt, though that definition may be revised as the collection develops. The Iberian Peninsula refers to Spain and Portugal during the period of Muslim rule.

As the collection develops and scholars on the subject weigh in, the focus of the collection may expand or contract.
