Kara Pirî Paşa Village Gardens (MEGT)
Istanbul, Turkey
Evliya Çelebi describes this place as follows: Since Kara Pirî Paşa [grand vizier under Selim I and Süleyman I from 1517 to 1523] enjoyed the orchards, gardens, water, and weather of this location, he planted a garden and ordered the building of a village here; it is thus named after him.
