The Sikh Hammam in the Lahore Fort is a key features of the Shah Burj forecourt that reflect layers of Mughal and Sikh architectural histories. Originally a Mughal-era space arranged in a carefully designed axial layout, the Shah Burj forecourt underwent significant changes during Sikh rule.
Conservation activities at the Sikh Hammam focused on extensive structural repairs and restoration of its architectural finishes. The deteriorated wooden roof was dismantled, and termite-proofed wooden beams were installed. Additional tasks included the cleaning and reintegration of marble wall panels, fresco panels, plaster repair, and stabilization of marble screens on the parapet.
